How To

Finance an incubator

As incubators go through the different stages of start-up, operations and expansion, different amounts and types of financing may be needed.  Depending on the stage, business model and local market conditions of the incubator it may also be more or less feasible to charge for services provided.

The extent to which business incubation can be financially sufficient, the strategies to be used and the time it will take need to be addressed carefully in the deign and planning phases of development, and adjusted as the incubator gains experience with testing the various strategies.

This section seeks to provide guidance on resource mobilization strategies, types of financing, pricing and other topics that are key to identifying and implementing the most appropriate financing strategy for your operations.
